Before and after the patch

Star Citizen 4.10.2

One week on, 9 Oct to 15 Oct 2956, against the week before on 4.10.1.

A patch can move most prices at once. Here is what moved most in its first week: the Index, the best loops, prices and the routes to watch. Worked out from stored prices for a C2 Hercules (696 SCU) with 1,000,000 aUEC.

The Hermaion Index

Margins since the patch.

What a hauler makes on each SCU of cargo on the best trade runs right now. Higher means trading pays better; a fall means margins are thinning.

7,267aUEC per SCU

+400%Before the patch 1,452, up 400%.

How the Index is worked out
  1. Every run from one terminal to another in the same system, on the week's stored prices.
  2. Each worked out for a C2 Hercules (696 SCU) with 1,000,000 aUEC to spend, so stock and budget limit how much it can carry.
  3. For each commodity, only its best run counts, so one cargo cannot fill the list.
  4. The 10 most profitable of those make the Index.
  5. Their margins (sell price minus buy price, per SCU) are averaged, weighted by the SCU carried on each, so a rare cargo the budget buys little of barely moves it.

Read it like a stock index: one number for the state of the market, compared week on week.
